My Makhani Butter Chicken Sauce Kit is inspired by traditional Punjabi cuisine in North India, and contains a magnificently aromatic, rich Buttery base sauce with tomatoes and fenugreek, along with a separate sachet with a blend of whole spices (Whole Red Chilli, Cumin Seeds, Bay Leaf, Green Cardamom Pods and Black Peppercorns). The whole spices are given a “Tadka” (or tempering is a key technique in Indian cooking, infusing oil with the essence and aroma of whole spices to give the dish a burst of intense flavour). The sizzling sound of the spices cooking conjures up fond memories of my own mother’s kitchen. You can enjoy cooking this classic dish in 3 ways: Curry, Stir Fry and Bake.
